Neo Space Group and Display Interactive Partner to Launch Skywaves and SkyFly
New Space Group (NSG), a global space services company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has partnered with Display Interactive, a leading inflight entertainment and connectivity provider, to launch Skywaves and SkyFly an end-user platform that seeks to provide passengers the highest quality passenger experience during their flights. Skywaves will offer a wide range of capabilities to enhance the services provided by airlines to passengers, including seamless connectivity and digital services on board, a platform that manages traffic by transferring data traffic between interoperable networks using the latest cloud technology with the ability to communicate with satellites in various orbits. Moreover, the system is not only based on core satellite operations but is fully compatible with the "connectivity as a service" model, providing a comprehensive connectivity solution suitable for the future of airlines.
In addition, the partnership will introduce SkyFly, an end-user portal that allows passengers a range of services during flights such as watching movies in high quality, online shopping and benefiting from many entertainment services during their journey with a seamless experience. SkyFly's platform is flexible enough to increase bandwidth based on the specific requirements of each passenger during the journey, while providing high levels of service to different segments of passengers when needed. Mr. Faisal Al-Salloum, Managing Director of New Space Group, said: "The partnership with Display Interactive marks an important milestone in our mission to revolutionize in-flight connectivity, as Skywaves empowers airlines by providing them with a flexible and scalable solution to enhance the passenger experience and meet the modern needs of our digital world."
Tarek El Metwally, CEO of Display Interactive, said:
"We are delighted to partner with New Space Group to bring Skywaves to the aviation industry, which is in line with our ambition to provide data transfer speed equivalent to fibre optics on board. Our combined expertise and technological innovations will reshape in-flight connectivity, providing airlines with exceptional capabilities and enhancing their market competitiveness." Skywaves will initially launch with leading airlines in Saudi Arabia, subject to obtaining the required licenses and approvals, and there are plans for further expansion across the aviation sector. The partnership between New Space Group and Display Interactive represents a shared commitment to leading innovation and delivering advanced connectivity solutions to meet the evolving needs of airlines and passengers around the world.
